양윤모 선생을 떠올리며 그를 위해 기도합니다.
감옥에서 단식 투쟁을 중단한 그가 건강을 되찾고 회복되기를.
둥글이를 떠올리며 그를 위해 기도합니다.
법정에서 선고받은 150만원의 벌금을 거부하고 28일을 감옥에 갇힌 그의 선택을 위해.
그의 죄가 무엇이었냐고요?
강정마을의 생명과 평화를 지키기 위한 평화활동가들의 용감한 행동을 카메라에 기록한 것이 그의 죄입니다. 매일 매일 벌어지는 폭력과 탄압에 저항한 것이 그의 죄입니다. 해군 기지 건설을 막기 위한 저항은 그렇게 무려 6년이나 계속되어왔습니다.
나는 기도합니다.
예수가 압제자들에 의해 겪어야 했던 고난을 기억하면서,
죄가 없음에도 재판에 회부되어 선고를 받아야 했던 고통을 기억하면서.
나는 기도합니다.
부활하신 예수가 세상의 정의와 평화를 지키는 용기 있는 사람들 한 가운데에 계속 살아계시기를,
더 이상의 폭력과 불의가 강정 마을에 찾아오지 않기를 바라면서.
희망을 살아가고 부활을 살아가는 사람들이 기도합니다.
다시 한 번 정의가 거대한 파도가 되어 강정마을에 흘러넘치기를!
그리하여 강정마을이 해군의 것이 아닌 온전히 마을 사람들의 것이 되기를!

My thoughts and prayers are with Prof. Yang as he begins his recovery back to full health! My thoughts and prayers are also with Dunguree who has refused to pay the 1500 dollar fine meted out by the court and has elected to go to prison for 28 days instead! His crime?-documenting the brave actions of peacemakers standing up for the life and peace of Gangjeong and bravely resisting the daily repression that has become a feature of the 6 year long struggle against the building of the naval base! I pray this week as we remember the sufferings and deep humiliation that Jesus suffered at the hands of his oppressors and the subsequent humiliation of being put on trial and executed as a common criminal despite being an innocent man; that we may also pray that no more violence and injustice will be visited on the brave peace makers in Gangjeong village that Jesus was raised from the dead and continues to live in the mighty and brave actions of people for justice and peace in our world! As people of hope and people of the resurrection we pray that justice will once again flow like a mighty stream and that the village of Gangjeong will return to its rightful custodians-the villagers and not the navy! Peace Gangjeong! 강정의 평화!! |
